From September, I will be offering Well-being Massage and Soft Tissue Therapy treatments for women of all ages.
Based on 22 years experience as a therapist, and a toolbag of evidence-based techniques, a one hour session includes:
- Paying close attention to your medical history and current needs
- Massage techniques which are evidence based and grounded in sports massage science research
- Laser therapy if appropriate for augmented soft tissue and cellular repair
- A quiet, confidential space where you can be yourself
- Focus on strained or injured areas so you can feel stronger or return to your favourite activities
- Gentle and age-appropriate rehabilitation exercise advice
- Sign-posting on to other professionals where required eg radiology, women’s pelvic physiotherapy, specialist surgeon, psychotherapy, GP or rheumatology.
Research reviews show that musculo-skeletal disorders are the fourth greatest burden on health especially lower back, neck, shoulder and knee. The good news is that there is plenty of evidence to show that certain types of hands on pressure – following injury/strain analysis and range of motion testing – leads to a reduction in pain and an increase in strength and well-being.
